2012 is here and renovations are complete at The Stone Store.  We are back to our normal operating hours.  Thank you for your patience when we had to close early and open late and move many of your favourite products about.  

Here is a before and after photo during the renovations.  The first was taken at 10 pm at night and the second is 10 am the next morning.  Okay I am exaggerating, the second photo is many days later at 10am.
 
We finally have a produce cooler for our organic veggies and fruit! You asked, we listened.  The cooler is as energy efficient as we could find and we also have an eco cover which pulls down over the cooler at night to conserve energy. In order to get the produce cooler into the store, we had to get new front doors.  Since we were doing that we decided to replace the old floor with a new non-toxic, biodegradable marmoleum floor made from Flax.

Simon Fletcher from Preserving Earth recycled our original shelving units (that were taken out to accommodate the changes) and made them into additional shelving on the east side of the store.  Anything that wasn't recycled went to Habitat for Humanity.
